Insurance

SMART Pediatrics is an out-of-network provider with all insurance agencies.  We have had success with getting insurance companies to reimburse our clients.  But, each insurance company and insurance plan is different.  SMART Pediatrics will assist you by providing therapy notes and "super-bills" for you to submit to try to get reimbursement from insurance.  Each billing statement will include the necessary diagnostic and procedural codes insurance companies require to process your claims.

While SMART Pediatrics will work with you to the best of our ability to get coverage, ultimately it is your responsibility to contact your insurance company to fully understand your plan.  Call your insurance company to find out what services your plan includes.

Important questions you should ask your insurance agent regarding occupational therapy coverage:

  • What out-of-network coverage do I have if I use a provider that does not accept my insurance?

  • Do I need to obtain prior authorization or a referral for therapy services?

  • Can I apply Occupational Therapy sessions toward my deductible?

  • Once my deductible is met, will my Occupational Therapy sessions be fully covered?

If you should have any further questions, please call us and we will be happy to assist you anyway we can.

It is important to know that while early intervention is always ideal, issues with sensory processing and primitive reflexes can be treated at any age. It is NEVER too late to begin addressing your concerns.
